Defending Mozzart Cup champions Nairobi United have moved decisively in the mid-season transfer window as they look to retain their title and push for a strong finish in the SportPesa League.
The club has confirmed the arrival of two experienced midfielders, bolstering their squad at a crucial stage of the campaign as domestic competitions intensify.
Attacking midfielder John Njuguna joins Nairobi United from Tusker FC, bringing top-flight experience and proven quality in the final third. Njuguna is expected to add creativity, goals and assists to an attack that has already shown promise this season.
The club has also secured the services of Roy Okal from Sofapaka FC. A versatile and battle-hardened midfielder, Okal adds steel and tactical flexibility to the Nairobi United engine room. His experience at the highest level of Kenyan football, including a previous stint with Mathare United, is seen as a major asset as the team navigates a demanding second half of the season.
Nairobi United management says the new signings underline the club’s ambition to remain competitive on multiple fronts, with the Mozzart Cup defence and a strong league finish firmly in focus.
With the mid-season window now open, the additions signal intent from the holders, who are determined to prove that last season’s cup triumph was no fluke.
